Propensity can be defined as an individual's particular tendency to emulate a certain type of behavior. This means that an individual has several specific characteristics. For example, an individual may always study a certain subject or an individual may always be running late or an individual may be selfish or self-sacrificing. If an individual is always late then that individual has a propensity for lateness.

The definition of self relates to the physical and mental state of a being. This relates to the physical body and the intellectual mind. There are several different levels and degrees of self. Many experts believe that an individual should never stop developing the self. When an individual believes in self-development that individual believes in a more rewarding and truly successful life.

Subversion can be defined as an activity that is designed to undermine government actions or a government institution. This can be the physical act of overthrowing something or the act of ruining something.

Many individuals have a propensity for self-ruin or self-destruction. This is a very bad characteristic and one that will hinder an individual greatly throughout their lifetime. An individual may destroy themselves through negative thinking, alcohol abuse, substance abuse or by becoming involved in an abusive relationship.

An individual who has a propensity for self-subversion must learn to face their own self-destruction behavior and to stop this self-destructive behavior before it even begins. Self-subversive behavior can be a negative thought or a negative feeling or a negative action. This is one way in which an individual destroys their present and future self.

Many individuals do not realize that our destinies, our futures can be designed upon our specific plans. We have the power to control our lives and what happens to us during our lifetime. An individual must be willing to switch from the passenger seat to the drivers seat. This can be a very scary process for some people. Some people are use to having someone else tell them what to do or to following a negative chain of thoughts. These negative behaviors must be broken and stopped in order to achieve the future that you have always dreamed about.

An example of a self-destructive behavior would be if every time an individual has a bad day or if an individual is unhappy in life that individual a drink instead of dealing with the problem head on has. The drink may make the individual feel better for only a limited amount of time but then down the road the individual will be faced with many health problems and the loss of money that was spent on alcohol. An individual may even loss their job, family and loved ones. This is a self-destructive behavior that must be stopped.

Instead of indulging in self-destructive activities, it is important for an individual to deal with a problem head on. An individual must learn how to control and shape their own destinies in order to have a rich and satisfying life. The first step in losing a propensity for self-subversion is to recognize and name the self-destruction behavior.

Once the self-destructive behavior is named, the individual can work towards overcoming this particular negative behavior. Many times people who are trying to change negative behaviors find it helpful to use a support group or mentor during this tough time. This is a great way for an individual to change a negative behavior by leaning on other caring people. It is very important that anyone who has a propensity towards self-subversion to change their negative behavior. This leads to a happy and productive life.
