Take The Kids On A Ski Break To Val Thorens
The idea of a family ski trip can be potentially stressful. There are passes to be arranged, equipment to be rented, and of course food and accommodation to take care of. However, thanks to the incredibly family-friendly facilities, Val Thorens is a resort that’s become a fantastic destination for first-time skiers, welcoming even the youngest of tots.
At this world-renowned resort, you’ll find that everything has been arranged to make skiing with your kids as easy as possible. The region is part of the Famille Plus scheme, which means they offer services such as excellent ski schools, great beginner slopes, the option to hire a nanny, plus accommodation that allows you to access the slopes straight from your doorstep. For example, a catered chalet (Val Thorens has many to choose from) is a perfect option for families as it will be centrally located and take away the hassle of heading out to restaurants every night.
Finally, you will also find a plethora of activities off the slopes to keep the little ones entertained.
Here are just a few of the fun things that are on offer:
Skating
Ice skating is fun for all ages, so if you’re looking for some family fun off the slopes, head to the Place Peclet at the top of the resort. This large ice rink is made entirely from natural ice – and if that wasn’t impressive enough, you’ll be treated to a music and light show as well. After working up an appetite on the rink, you can head back to your catered chalet. Val Thorens’ best hosts will be ready with things like cakes, delicious pancakes and warming hot chocolate.
Snowtubing
This is a fun activity for everyone from the age of five and upwards. Simply grab a tube and jump on the specially-designed tracks, which take you along a route known as the Moon Xperience. It’s so much fun that the kids will likely want to go around once or twice more! But no great effort is required, thanks to the magic carpet that takes you back up to the top.
Dog Sledding
This is an unforgettable experience for mum and dad as well as the children. Meet the hardworking, friendly dogs and watch them work in their natural habitat as they pull you across the breathtaking landscape. All you have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.
Tobogganing
Perhaps one of the most thrilling alternative activities on offer is the Comojet sledge run, which everyone from the age of five and above can take part in. This famous toboggan ride has a fun twist of being themed around the universe and riders are taken on a journey in search of a new planet. You’ll find plenty of surprises along this 6km trail, plus lots of interesting facts, too!
While skiing is a fun activity for all the family, it’s great to have some alternative activities to choose from on days off. These are just a few of the fantastic things that the resort has to offer. With great deals and convenient accommodation in a catered chalet, Val Thorens is the perfect destination for your family ski holiday.
